Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 paws

I have been in this business a long time. I have reviewed catnip pre-rolls.. I have reviewed beer bottles. I have reviewed a rainbow disco leash. I thought I had seen everything.

Then the wine arrived. 🍷

Two bottles. Dom Purrignon and Meowbec. Bottled with Silvervine, Vintage 2018. I reviewed mine immediately and at length. Bunny kicks were involved. I will not be elaborating further on the specifics. But I will declassify the surveillance footage and include it at the end of this post 😸

A Note on Silvervine 🌿

Before I file the tasting notes, a brief educational segment. You may be familiar with catnip. Catnip is fine. Catnip is acceptable. Silvervine is different.

Silvervine (Actinidia polygama) is a climbing plant from the mountains of Asia. It contains two cat-attracting compounds – actinidine and dihydroactinidiolide – compared to catnip’s one. This means silvervine affects approximately 80% of cats, including some cats who do not respond to catnip at all.

The effects are similar to catnip: rolling, rubbing, bunny kicking, general enthusiasm. Duration: approximately 5–30 minutes, followed by a refractory period during which the cat needs to lie down and think about what just happened.

This concludes the educational segment. You’re welcome. 🐾

Tasting Notes: Meowbec 🍷

The Meowbec came to me. Samuel. Chief Reviewer. This was correct.

Color: A deep burgundy with red foil accents. Very distinguished.

Nose: Silvervine. Immediately. No subtlety. This is not a wine for subtlety.

Palate: Full-bodied. Notes of chaos. A long finish of floor nap.

Mouthfeel: Soft plush exterior. Satisfying to bite. I bit it several times.

Pairing suggestion: 3am zoomies. Supervised bunny kicking. Morning patrol warm-up.

Samuel’s notes: I rolled. I kicked. I bit the bottle. I have no regrets. Zero. This is the finest vintage I have reviewed to date and I reviewed the beer bottles with considerable enthusiasm.

Samuel. Vintage 2018. No regrets. 🍷🐾

Tasting Notes: Dom Purrignon 🍾

The Dom Purrignon was assigned to my co-resident, Vincent. He is newer to this household and still developing his palate.

Color: A distinguished green with warm cork accents.

Nose: Silvervine. Also immediately.

Palate: Vincent’s tasting notes were inconclusive. He sat next to it for an extended period. He appeared to be thinking.

Pairing suggestion: Extended sitting. Prolonged staring. Occasional slow blink.

Vincent's notes (filed by Samuel on his behalf): He has since interacted with the bottle on multiple occasions. He does not commit to a full review in the same way I do. He is more of a contemplative drinker. This is acceptable. We respect different reviewing styles in this household. He has not yet filed his own notes. I am not surprised.

Vinnie…wait – he brought MY pizza to a wine tasting? πŸ•πŸ˜€

Vinnie having deep thoughts. Still with MY pizza. πŸ•πŸ˜€

Vinnie still thinking. And he's still got MY pizza. πŸ•πŸ˜€

Final image. No pizza. Seems suspect. Samuel out. 🍾🐾

A Note on the Extra Packet πŸ“¦

The bottles arrived with an additional silvervine packet for refilling purposes. This was a thoughtful inclusion. The neighborhood inspector approves of forward planning. πŸ”πŸΎ

How Does It Compare to the Beer Bottles? 🍺

An excellent question. I have reviewed the TWINCRITTERS Cat 45 Beer Bottles previously. (Full review on file.) The beer bottles were a formative experience.

The wine bottles are a worthy addition to the collection. The shape is the same size as the beer bottles \u2014 which means the collection pairs nicely on the shelf. The silvervine delivery is comparable. The label names are, if anything, superior.

Dom Purrignon. Meowbec. Cat 45. Purronas.

Whoever is responsible for naming these deserves recognition. I am recognizing them now, officially, in this review. 🐾

The full cellar. The collection is growing. I have no further notes at this time. 🍷🐾

Additional surveillance evidence. Contents: extensive. πŸ”πŸΎ

The Verdict 🐾

Five paws. No further questions.

Meowbec: reviewed by Samuel with full enthusiasm and zero regrets. Dom Purrignon: currently being contemplated by Vincent, who takes his time. The extra silvervine packet has been noted and approved. The vintage is 2018 and it has aged extremely well.

Toe Bean Swear. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🍷🐾
