🔎 Case #011: The New Resident
In the last Meowsletter, I meowntioned a suspicious tote had appeared in my kitchen. Then another in my living room… I can now confirm: one contained a cat.
His name is Vincent van Gogh Kitty, but he just goes by Vinnie. Unless he’s reviewing wine…but that’s another story (in this meowsletter 😸)...
He arrived on Sunday, April 12th. I investigated immediately. He hissed. I conducted sniff tests along the outer perimeter. Several feelings were experienced. They are classified.

🦆 Operation Nest Watch: They Hatched
Nest #1 has hatched. 🦆🐾
On Tuesday, April 21st, at 5:30am, my human looked out the back door and said, “there’s a duck going crazy outside.” By 6:04am, a hatched egg and chirping were confirmed. By 4:44pm, a duckling had chirped directly at my human. Mama did not make a sound. My human continued talking anyway.
By Wednesday morning, the nest was empty. Mama had led her ducklings out at dawn – as mallards do within 24 hours of hatching. She also ate some of her own egg shells for calcium and to protect the nest from predators.
Nest #1: Mission complete. Nest #2: still active. The watch continues. 🥚

The wine arrived on April 17th. I reviewed mine immediately. At length. Bunny kicks were involved.
Two bottles. Dom Purrignon (white/green, assigned to Vincent) and Meowbec (red/purple, assigned to me, Samuel). Bottled with Silvervine. Vintage 2018. Vincent sat next to his and appeared to be thinking. I respect different reviewing styles.
